I finally squeezed out some time to paint this week. I started 3 new pieces and the idea for a series. None are finished but I thought I'd share. I'm curious to see where these take me. All are done in encaustic. This first piece is 5" x 5".
This next piece is 8" x 8".
This final piece is also 5" x 5".
It's been a long long time since I've been able to do some painting and I've missed it. I love everything about this medium. The texture, the smell of warm wax, the process, the way it looks and feels. I have to learn to go ahead an snag the small bits of time to paint. Since it takes a bit to melt the wax each time I always assume I don't have enough time to paint but it's not true. I can get a lot done in an hour or even just 30 minutes. After I put Tanner down to sleep I should go right downstairs instead of getting on the computer. Time to create some new rituals.
Hmm..transcendance....
